During summer 2019 the National Board said a fond “Slán agus beannacht” to Ann Doyle. Ann has worked in the National Office for 11 years and graced us all with her calm, gentle manner through good times and challenging times. While Ann is missed by us all, we are delighted that she is taking time
with her family and grandchildren during this next phase of her life.

HSE ADULT SAFEGUARDING DRAFT POLICY (2019)
The HSE Adult Safeguarding Policy Review Development Group concluded their work on devising a revised Draft HSE Adult Safeguarding Policy in recent months. The final draft of the revised Adult Safeguarding Policy was endorsed by HSE Leadership in early June. The National Safeguarding Office and the Review Chair, Martina Queally, Chief Officer, Community Healthcare East would like to thank all those who contributed in any way to this revised policy.

Pope Francis called together Presidents of Bishops’ Conferences for a Meeting on Child Safeguarding. The three day meeting took place in Rome on 21-24th February 2019. The long term outcomes will undoubtedly impact on our practice here in Ireland, and we in the National Board will work closely with Church authorities and Church personnel to ensure we offer support in developing and maintaining best practice standards on all aspects of child safeguarding in the Catholic Church in Ireland.
